The Health Research Board (HRB) is hosting a workshop on ‘Writing a Successful Grant Application’ on Thursday, 9 September 2010 at 10.00am in the Convention Centre Dublin.
This workshop will coincide/with an official announcement of the new round of HRB funding for investigator-led projects and fellowships. This practical workshop for researchers will focus on: 1.Key lessons that can be learned from previous applications 2.A series of short sessions on research design issues led by experts from the HRB-funded CSTAR /unit, including: - Key elements of a research protocol - Study design and sample size – methods and common issues - Why it is important to understand the pathway from conducting research to impacting on clinical practice and health decision making – an overview/and useful guidelines Following the workshop, both HRB staff and CSTAR experts will remain available for a further two hours for/an ‘open clinic’ where researchers can ask questions based around potential grant applications to the upcoming calls.
