Joining the live sessions:

Approximately 48 hours before the conference, you will receive an email with the final schedule for the day with a resource containing the live Zoom links to all of the sessions. These links can only be accessed by conference registrants. It is essential that your first name and surname are featured in your Zoom profile log-in, as this will enable AOTI moderators to ensure that your name is on the registrant list. Access the ‘join’ links to attend the live program on 8th and 9th October 2021.

Conferencing platform:

You may have already had experience of using our conference platform ‘Zoom’; however, if you are new to this online audio and web conferencing platform, please download it for free now so you can test your internet speed and sound in advance of AOTI 2021 Virtual conference.

You may already have downloaded Zoom; however, as with all software, the versions are frequently updated so we would encourage you to check out the link at Zoom in advance of conference. This link will allow you to check your own Zoom account to ensure that you are using the most updated version.

If you are watching at your workplace instead of at home, your employer may have different security settings that do not allow you to access it, so be sure to test it: http://zoom.us/test.

What Internet Speed Do I Need for Zoom?

The bandwidth used by Zoom will automatically adjust for 3G, WiFi or Wired environments. On the Zoom website, they recommend that for a group video call, you will need bandwidth of 800kbps/1.0Mbps (up/down) for high quality video. You will need an internet connection of at least between 225 kbps and 670 kbps dedicated to the Zoom call. You can find out more on system requirements by clicking on this link: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362023-System-Requirements-for-PC-Mac-and-Linux#h_d278c327-e03d-4896-b19a-96a8f3c0c69c

Delegate Etiquette:

We have set-up each session so that when you click on the link for the session your video will be off, and microphone will be muted when you join. If you see either of these on, please ensure you turn them off before the presentation begins (bottom left side of toolbar). Please do not turn them on during the session.

Q & A:

You will be able to see in the AOTI 2021 Conference programme that this year sessions have been grouped with two or more speakers depending. It is planned that in each session the oral presentations will be delivered sequentially with a subsequent 10-15 minutes timetabled for chat and discussion about all the presentations. We hope that by formatting the session in this way there will be more opportunity for discussion of the topics in a natural way.

This discussion and Q and A will be moderated by the chair of the session. You can use the chat box function on Zoom to pose questions which the moderator will manage and pose to the presenter as appropriate.

Access to the recorded sessions

After conference, delegates will be able to view the recordings of sessions on the AOTI website post conference until 31st January 2022, this will provide an opportunity for delegates to watch all the talks that they could not watch live on the day.

Certificates of attendance will be emailed to all delegates before the end of October 2021.
