HSE launches Living Well – an evidence-based free online programme supporting people with Long-Term Health Conditions during Covid-19
On September 30th 2020, the HSE National Self-Management Support team officially launched Living Well - A programme for adults with long-term health conditions. Living Well supports people to develop practical skills and confidence so they can manage their health condition better and make changes for a healthier life. Examples of long-term health conditions include asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Heart conditions, stroke, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, depression and chronic pain.
- It is a free group programme which runs online for six weeks. There is one workshop per week which lasts 2.5 hours
- Workshops are delivered in a relaxed and friendly way so that all participants can learn from each other. There are a maximum of 12 people in a programme
- Two trained facilitators run the workshops each week. At least one of the facilitators lives with a long-term health condition themselves

This programme is particularly helpful in supporting people who are finding it difficult to cope with, or manage their long-term health condition. Healthcare professionals can direct people with long-term health conditions to their local Living Well team. Details available on www.hse.ie/LivingWell.
