AOTI 2021: Evolving Practice, Enabling Occupation, Enhancing Lives

Event Date 8 Oct 2021 - 9 Oct 2021

AOTI 2021: Evolving Practice, Enabling Occupation, Enhancing Lives

Friday 8th and Saturday 9th October 2021. Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone

Conference 2021 will be an occasion to celebrate the achievements of Occupational Therapists in Ireland and beyond; to reflect on adaptations in Occupational Therapy practice in the face of unprecedented events, and to showcase innovations in clinical practice and developments in research by our profession.

The conference committee have a difficult decision to make regarding whether our in-person conference can take place in Athlone this year; and this decision will be made in line with all available public health advice. We have a plan to host a 2-day virtual conference using the Zoom conference platform if an in-person conference is not feasible, and we will provide you with an update on this situation in early April 2021.

Based on feedback received from our delegates who attended the virtual conference in 2020, we plan to make the content of the conference as relevant as possible to Occupational Therapy practice with two distinct streams of abstract submissions  - a clinical practice and innovation stream, and a research stream. Abstracts submissions will be themed in the areas of mental health, older adults, paediatrics, physical, management topics, practice education topics, telehealth and advanced practice.

The conference committee are in the process of securing exceptional international keynote and plenary speakers with a commitment to giving excellent value to our conference delegates. And of course, a conference is not a conference without our dedicated and committed sponsors and we look forward to an exhibition of equipment and services in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone - or indeed, virtually!

We plan to call for submissions in the coming weeks and for now we would ask you to please save the date for conference 2021 in your diaries! Please keep an eye on the AOTI website for further information and follow AOTI Twitter and Facebook pages for conference updates #AOTI2021.
