Event Date 2 Dec 2021

Mental Health Reform are delighted to invite you to the launch of the ‘Ethnic Minorities and Mental Health, Revised guidelines for mental health services and staff on working with people from ethnic minority communities.’The event takes place on Thursday, 02nd December, from 3:00 - 4:00 PM via Zoom.

In 2016, in partnership, the Mental Health Commission and Mental Health Reform published guidelines for mental health services and staff, on working with people from ethnic minority communities.

In 2021, the Mental Health Commission once more partnered with Mental Health Reform to update the guidelines. The guidelines are intended to inform mental health services and staff on how best to provide care to individuals from ethnic minorities.

This event aims to raise awareness of the need for culturally sensitive mental health services and highlight the challenges that ethnic minority groups face, in accessing appropriate mental health support.

Speakers include:
John Farrelly – Chief Executive, Mental Health Commission
Gary Kiernan – Director of Regulation, Mental Health Commission
Fiona Coyle – CEO, Mental Health Reform
Ita Connolly – Research & Policy Officer, Mental Health Reform
