AOTI would like to welcome all new graduates to an informative webinar on 28th November 12.30 – 14.00.  This event is being offered free of charge to any interested Occupational Therapists and AOTI membership is not required to attend.

The session is aimed at those about to embark on their career as an Occupational Therapist or who are in the early stages of this journey. It will provide information on what to expect when starting out in your professional career along with practical tips tailored to the new graduate stage. Valuable advice and perspectives will be given from both an Occupational Therapy Manager and a new graduate Occupational Therapist. In addition, important information on continuing professional development (CPD) will be given by AOTI's Director of Professional Development. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A.

This webinar aims to provide new graduates with encouragement and confidence to start off their careers in the best way possible. Odhrán Allen, CEO of AOTI, will moderate this session and participate in the Q&A along with the speakers. 

The speakers at this webinar will include:  

An Occupational Therapy Manager 

• Discuss what to expect in the first 6months to a year in a new job
• Tips on how to feel confident and grow in a new role
• Information on seeking a job, registering with agencies and sending out CVs

A New Graduate Occupational Therapist 

• Provide an overview of the experience as a new graduate OT
• Tips on transitioning from student to working professional

The Director of Professional Development, AOTI 

• Provide an overview of what CPD is and what the requirements for Occupational Therapists are in line with CORU standards
• Provide advice on best ways to manage CPD for new graduates
• Give an overview of AOTI CPD resources including the AOTI CPD portfolio, regularly run CPD events and the AOTI e-learning centre
