The Paediatric Advisory Group are excited to announce our September webinar on "Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015 and the Decision Support Service" as part of our innovative practice evidence online seminar series for 2023.
This one hour session will be hosted by Dr. Joanne Fallon, occupational therapist and will comprise of two parts.
- The first part will offer some thoughts on the paradigm shift towards a Rights based perspective in an Irish context and how it has informed the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act 2015. While this legislation directly impacts adult services, it is also useful to consider how this paradigm shift influences the services received by children, and the occupational therapist delivering them.
- The second part will be a practical signposting of relevant resources relating to the Decision Support Service and associated arrangements.
Dr. Joanne Fallon has over 20 years’ experience as a clinician, manager and researcher in health and social care services. She is passionate about everyone’s right to access evidence based services in a timely manner.
