Advert - Conference Committee Recruitment 2025

Would you like to gain valuable experience in a key professional role in AOTI? 

Following on from another very successful AOTI conference 2024, the Conference Committee is recruiting volunteers to become involved in the planning of the AOTI Conference 2025. This is a great opportunity for Occupational Therapists to contribute to the promotion of the profession, whilst networking and developing professional competencies and skills. 

Person Specification - Is the Conference Committee a Good Fit for Me? 

Members of the Conference Committee describe it as a very rewarding experience that has benefited them personally and professionally. If you are considering getting involved, ask yourself:

•        Am I solution-focused and a good problem-solver?

•        Am I a practical, task-focused person?

•        Do I like to work with established systems and procedures?

•        Am I a good team player who can work well with others?

•        Would I like to get experience in event planning and project management?

If this sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you. We are looking for members to join the Committee and participate in one of the following Subgroups that are key to planning and delivering a successful Conference: 

•        Abstract Subgroup 

•        Venue and Logistics Subgroup 

•        Sponsorship Subgroup 

•        Keynote Speaker and PR Subgroup

• A CPD experience for all Occupational Therapy grades offering opportunities to enhance professional skills such as teamwork, feedback implementation, resource management and event planning

Qualifications 

Applicants must possess the following qualities: 

• Be a member of AOTI or be eligible for membership of AOTI 
• Have an ability to devote sufficient time and energy to Committee duties including attendance at monthly meetings, taking a lead on specifics tasks, responding to emails and follow-up on actions between meetings 
• Meet the person specification described above
• Demonstrate integrity, high ethical standards and respect of privacy and confidentiality.

Previous involvement or knowledge of the activities of the AOTI is not necessary and successful applicants will be provided with on-going support from current Committee members and AOTI staff. Applications will be reviewed by the Conference Committee in consultation with the Management Team.
