We are delighted to announce the appointment of two new members of our team
Following an extensive recruitment process over the last few months we are delighted to announce the appointment of two new AOTI staff.
Director of Professional Operations
Laura Horan has been appointed as our first Director of Professional Operations. This is an exciting new role within AOTI in response to the continued growth and development of the organisation. Laura will be working closely with our CEO and voluntary Management Team to support the efficient day-to-day operation of AOTI and will play a key role in supporting our volunteer members in our Advisory Groups and Committees. With 15 years professional experience in a range of Occupational Therapy roles she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. Speaking about her new role, Laura said, “I am excited and privileged to join AOTI in the role of Director of Professional Operations. I look forward to working with the Management Team and AOTI members to continue to develop and progress the role of Occupational Therapy in Ireland. As part of this role, I am passionate about supporting and advocating for Occupational Therapists in their roles across a variety of specialties”. Laura commenced work in AOTI today and we warmly welcome her to the Association.
Director of Professional Development
Siobhán Hanley has been appointed as our new Director of Professional Development and will be responsible for overseeing and continuously developing all aspects of CPD in AOTI. Siobhán will be working collaboratively with AOTI Advisory Groups, Committees, the HSE National Health and Social Care Professionals Office and other HSCP professional bodies to deliver a vibrant and responsive CPD programme for AOTI members and the Occupational Therapy profession. With over 10 years professional experience in a range of Occupational Therapy roles she also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. Speaking about her new role, Siobhán said, “I am passionate about enhancing the role and profile of Occupational Therapy in Ireland and about the importance of continuous learning and development to support the highest standards of care for our service users. I am very excited to join the AOTI team and look forward to continuing and building on the great work that has been done by the previous Director of Professional Development”. Siobhán will commence in her role in September and we look forward to welcoming her to AOTI then.
Between now and September Laura Horan will be interim Director of Professional Development and will formally commence her role as Director of Professional Operations when Siobhán commences in September. We have no doubt that both Laura and Siobhán will make a very positive contribution to the continued growth and evolution of AOTI. As we move into a new strategic cycle with the launch of our ambitious AOTI Strategy 2024 – 2029 later this year, Siobhán and Laura are a valuable addition to our professional body.
