Eden Suicide Prevention Programme

Eden is an educational programme with a therapeutic element for people over the age of 18 years

Paula Lawlor, CEO Suicide or Survide has asked AOTI to circulate information below to members regarding this programme.

Eden is an educational programme with a therapeutic element for people over the age of 18 years who have attempted or contemplated suicide.  It is funded through the National Office for Suicide Prevention and is run in Dublin by Suicide or Survive (it’s originators) and in CHO2 (Galway, Mayo and Roscommon) by the HSE’s National Counselling Service (NCS) in partnership with Suicide or Survive.  Recruitment is currently underway for all programmes.

Eden is a closed group programme for up to 16 participants that runs one morning a week for 26 weeks. It aims to support people to develop the skills to monitor and maintain their mental health and build a range of supports that are appropriate to their needs. The ultimate aim of the programme is to support participants to move away from suicide as an option of choice in times of crisis.

HERE is some information about the programme and would be grateful if you could let your members know about it as they may come into contact with people who could benefit from attending.

The HSE and Suicide or Survive operate within public health guidelines in relation to Covid-19 and these will be followed at all stages in the recruitment, pre-group work, and Eden Programme to ensure to the best of ability that everyone remains safe.

If you would like more information about the programme or to chat it through, please don’t hesitate to contact this email address or on 086 0745969
