HIQA launches online learning module on data quality

The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) has today launched an updated online learning module on data quality for all staff working in health and social care services and organisations.

The module, Developing a data quality framework, is the second part of an online learning course on How to improve data quality for health and social care services. It aims to enhance understanding of data quality and highlight the importance of using a data quality framework to ensure that high-quality data drives decision making in health and social care settings.

The first module in this course – Introduction to data quality – was launched in December 2021. HIQA has also developed a video animation about the importance of high- quality data in health and social care services.

The module is available for health and social care staff to take on the HSeLanD website. The module can also be accessed online here, under the Data Quality tab. Please note, a Certificate of Completion is only issued if the module is completed on HSELanD.

We hope to disseminate the module as widely as possible among frontline staff. We would be grateful if you could circulate the module to members of Association of Occupational Therapists Ireland and encourage members to complete the module.

Please do not hesitate to contact [email protected] should you have any further queries.
