----------------------------------------------

As you know the increasing numbers of infants and children living with complex and palliative conditions present many challenges for various health care settings.  In 2016, both the University of Galway and UCD recognised the need to support services and ensure that staff have the required competencies and skills to care for this population of infants and children in the relevant settings.  The programme obtained the support of the HSE and others to facilitate a more prepared nursing workforce though ongoing learning and development. Additionally, the programme has attracted scholarships to aid students with the funding of their studies.

The first programme commenced in 2016 and has been very well evaluated by both students and the NMBI. The modules are now open to colleagues in Allied Health and to International Students. To this end, Irish Hospice Foundation are delighted to share the programme flyer for 2023/24
