AOTI Private Practice Advisory Group (PPAG) are holding a half day online study day 18/9/26. This will primarily be a 3 hour training session on GDPR fundamentals for private practitioners.

Training session will cover:

1) Understanding GDPR Principles The legal foundations and what they mean in practice.

2) Roles Within GDPR The difference between data controllers, processors, and DPOs 3) Types of Data Covered Personal, special category, pseudonymised — made clear and relatable.

4) How GDPR Affects Your Business Practical impacts tailored to your day-to-day operations with plenty of real life examples to help your staff recognise how GDPR is impacting their daily work.

5)Role Of DPO and what is needed to carry out this role

6) Email Management & Paperwork/ notes Avoiding common mistakes in communication and storage and management of paperwork and notes.

7) Social Media & Data Risk Compliance considerations in content, engagement, and advertising

8) Data Retention: How Long is Too Long?

Reviewing your data storage and deletion practices

9) Handling DSARs (Data Subject Access Requests) One of the most important (and commonly mishandled) GDPR duties it is vital that staff can recognise a request when one comes in.

10) Recognising & Responding to Data Breaches Know what counts as a breach, and what to do next and become familiar with your company breach policy and protocol.
