As part of the AOTI 60th Anniversary Celebrations, AOTI are delighted to announce 'Ann Beckett Day'
This special CPD event commemorates the life and legacy of Ann Beckett - Ireland's first professionally qualified Occupational Therapist, founding member of AOTI, and tireless advocate for excellence in practice, education and leadership. Her career was defined by an unwavering commitment to quality of life, meaningful activity and person centred-care.
The 'Ann Beckett Day' event equips Occupational Therapists with practical, evidence-informed approaches with direct service development applications, including innovative, low-cost, creative approaches to efficiency in health services.
Drawing on 21 years of award-winning practice, speakers selected from Ann Beckett Award recipients will address:
- Enhancing quality of life through meaningful activity and participation
- Strengthening client participation and engagement and service-user empowerment
- Wellness promotion supporting long term health and independence
- Best practice service-user engagement aligned with the UNCRPD and Professing Disability Services frameworks
- Innovative, low-cost approaches to service delivery that support therapists to do more with less.
This will be an exceptional CPD opportunity, supporting the ongoing development of person-centred, outcomes focused care.
