Event Date 11 Feb 2026

Date: Wednesday, 11 February 2026

Time: 11am – 12pm

Format: Online via Zoom

The National Disability Authority (NDA) would like to invite you to a webinar marking the launch of a new research study entitled ‘The journey from wardship to supported decision-making: An examination of the process and the experiences of people leaving wardship’.

The research examined the process and experience of the cessation of the system of wardship in Ireland and the commencement of the supported decision-making system. This examination concerned the perspectives of those who were made wards of court, committees and professionals involved in the transition from wardship and in the new supported decision-making system.

During the webinar, NDA staff will provide an overview of the report and its findings. There will also be a short opportunity for questions and answers. The report will be made available on the NDA website on 11 February.

The webinar will be hosted online via Zoom. Register to attend. Details for accessing the webinar will be sent in advance.

Irish Sign Language interpretation will be provided.
