AOTI Chief Executive Officer Announcement

The Board of AOTI are delighted to announce the appointment of its first Chief Executive Officer.

Following an extensive recruitment campaign, Mr. Odhrán Allen has been appointed to the position and will commence on 23rd August 2022 for a five-year term.

Odhrán qualified as an occupational therapist in 1997 and since then has worked in a range of mental health and psychosocial settings including St John of God Hospital, St Vincent’s University Hospital and the HSE Gay Men’s Health Service. Between 2004 - 2006 he worked as Education Officer with AOTI where he oversaw the development of AOTI’s first CPD system for members and led on the therapy professions’ negotiation strategy at the National Implementation Group on Clinical Placements. From 2006 - 2017 Odhrán was Director of Mental Health with GLEN, where he oversaw a national LGBT mental health promotion and suicide prevention programme in partnership with the HSE and the National Office for Suicide Prevention.

Most recently, Odhrán has been the Chief Strategy Officer with AOTI and following the very successful implementation of AOTI Strategy 2017 - 2022 this post will come to a natural conclusion in August 2022. During his term as CSO, Odhrán achieved a high level of success with all identified goals and ensured they remained at the core for all AOTI planning and development for the past five years.

The Board are looking forward very much to working with Odhrán, who as CEO will bring extensive experience, passion and a vision for the future of AOTI.
