National HSCP Office Circulation: Understanding Trust & the HSE

Understanding Trust & the HSE

Trust is a vital part of how we live our lives. Providing health and care services that people can trust and have confidence in is part of the HSE’s core purpose. We know that if people feel they can trust us, they are more likely to seek our help at the right time. In February 2021, we started work to help us understand what trust means to the public, our staff and patients and service users. This involves a programme of research, consultation and action.  We want to build on the knowledge that we have gained so far and are inviting staff from across the HSE to sign up to upcoming online workshops.

Further details about the workshops are as follows:

Workshop focus: The topic of trust and how we, as the health service, can earn it.

What we want to do: Listen and learn from your experience and expertise.

What we are asking of you: We want you to share your suggestions for actions to earn trust and avoid distrust.

What we hope to achieve: We want to turn our learnings and discussions into suggested practical actions for earning public trust in the HSE and prioritise the most important actions.

We look forward to working together to protect the public’s trust and confidence in the services we provide.
