The National HSCP Office has asked on behalf of the HSE Quality and Patient Safety Directorate to circulate the email below.

Background

This year the WHO World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) is on the 17th September and the theme is ‘improving diagnosis for patient safety’.  

The National Quality and Patient Safety Directorate is facilitating a WPSD collaboration between the HSE, DOH and Patients for Patient Safety Ireland.  This group are developing a resource pack to support services to mark WPSD with key information for the public and staff.  Our primary focus will be on improving communication for diagnosis using the heading:  “Listen, diagnose, understand:  working together for patient safety”.

We invite you to join a 30 minute introductory webinar on Thursday, 22nd August at 12.30 to hear more.  This will be of interest to any staff members involved in preparations for World Patient Safety Day.  Please feel free to share this information with colleagues.
